The Cardiac Vision Laboratory at the University of California, San Francisco, performs interdisciplinary research in the field of computational cardiology and imaging. Our name is a combination of 'cardiac imaging' and 'computer vision'. Our mission is to develop beyond state-of-the-art imaging and measurement techniques for a better, more effective diagnosis of heart disease. Combining bioengineering, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and the physics of complex biological systems, we aim to study the heart's highly dynamic behavior, and bridge the gap between basic cardiovascular science, high-resolution imaging and numerical modeling. We are part of the Cardiovascular Research Institute (cvri.ucsf.edu) and collaborate closely with our colleagues from the Division of Cardiology and the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences at UCSF, with the ultimate goal to translate our discoveries to clinical application.
